There are two main types of AI: Narrow AI (Weak AI): This type of AI is designed and trained for a particular task. It can outperform humans in that specific task but lacks the broad cognitive abilities of human intelligence. Examples include virtual personal assistants like Siri or Alexa, image recognition software, and recommendation algorithms. General AI (Strong AI): This is a more advanced form of AI that possesses the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across different domains—similar to human intelligence. General AI has not been achieved yet and remains a theoretical concept. AI encompasses various subfields, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and expert systems. Machine learning, in particular, is a crucial aspect of AI, involving the development of algorithms that allow computers to learn patterns and make decisions based on data without explicit programming.
